No Time for Nonsense!
What makes your heart beat fast? It’s a loaded question, isn’t it? I’m not talking about familial love or even a hobby, I mean what about this great wide world leaves you wanting more? When do you feel the most alive? Some people ache to be in the mountains, others feel more like themselves in the surge of salty sea. I have friends who have this inner compulsion to create, or the drive within starts to turn on them, almost like a sickness. If you think about it, this all makes perfect sense. We were made for adventure, to be creative, to be hungry for something bigger than ourselves. Of course we would be sick inside if we were desperately trying to fill shoes that are not our own. So how do we make time for those things that are really built into us? If something has to give, what gives?
I am obviously NO expert and I wrestle with these questions more often than I would like to admit. I do know this though: I want to live a full life and I want to live it well.
Since we really have no time for nonsense, here is what I recommend:
Don’t be afraid.
Try something new.
Like Mary Oliver says, “be like a bride married to amazement.”
Share your joy.
Give Thanks for this precious life.
