If you have kids, you know all too well what Spring break usually amounts to – your kids home from school and you going stir crazy, because it’s too chilly, too windy, or just plain too dreary out, so they can’t go outside. This year, instead of dealing with Spring break blues, why not hit one of these top destinations for families?
#1 – Sarasota, Florida
This year, skip Disneyland and head straight to the beach in Sarasota, Florida, for your family’s Spring vacation! Along Florida’s Gulf coast, you will find six different beaches, each one offering a variety of fun and excitement. There are various hotels and/or rental properties where you can go to relax, and let’s not forget the variety of food and fun! There’s something for every family, including:

#2 – Henderson, Nevada

When you get hungry, make your way to the Ethel M. Chocolates factory where you can take a tour and visit the Ethel M. Botanical Cactus garden. As you are close to Las Vegas, you can also visit many of the area’s tamer attractions, including the large aquarium at Silverton’s or the Mandalay Bay’s Shark Reef Aquarium, which offers a display of more than 15 species of sharks. #3 – Atlantis Resort – Paradise Island, Bahamas
If you’re looking for a more tropical destination this Spring, head to Atlantis Resort in Paradise Island. Here you can participate in the Atlantis Kids Adventure program where your kids can choose their own adventure, including:
- The chef program where kids take culinary classes
- The architect program where you little ones can play in the Lego Construction Room
- They can check out the magical books in the Cozy Tree
- They can have a tea party in the Victorian dollhouse

#4 – Steamboat Springs, Colorado
If you’re still in the Winter mood, you can head to Steamboat Springs, Colorado for some awesome skiing fun! The Kid’s Vacation Center offers skiing lessons and helps prepare your kids for the slopes. You can also visit the Rough Rider Basin, which leaves you feeling as though you just walked onto the set of a western movie; it is equipped with tons of great features, including:
- Log cabin playhouses
- Horse-drawn sleigh rides
- Relaxing visit to natural hot springs
